About the Journal

Aim

The journal aims to promote interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research that addresses the multifaceted challenges and showcases innovative solutions and best practices in urban planning, architecture, product design, and other related disciplines. This way the journal also helps practitioners and policymakers adopt cutting-edge approaches that improve the quality of life in urban and regional environments.

Scope

Urban planning, architecture, and product design face a range of shared challenges in today’s rapidly evolving world. The most pressing issues across all three fields include sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation, the need for human-centred design that prioritizes accessibility, inclusivity, and usability, and the rapid technological changes involving the integration of smart technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital tools to transform how cities are planned, buildings are constructed, and products are designed. The Journal of Town Planning, Architecture and Design (JTPAD) is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to address these and other issues by publishing high-quality original research articles and new developments from a range of perspectives in theory, policy and practice in the fields of urban planning, architecture and product design. Contributions addressing the integration of various disciplines within urban planning, architecture, and design as well as exploring cross-disciplinary exchange of knowledge across other disciplines to address complex urban and regional, architectural, and design challenges are also welcomed.
